Reference

Reference is the lookup layer: exact values, closed enum sets, wire shapes, specs and the cross-cutting rules the rest of the docs lean on. These pages are meant to be scanned, not read front-to-back.

If you want to do something step-by-step, you are in the wrong section — go to a guide. If you want to understand an idea, go to Core Concepts. Reference answers "what is the exact status / value / rule?".
